MINISTRY INFO

Our Worship style at Cornerstone is contemporary and free flowing. We are sensitive to the flow of the Holy Spirit in our worship. Worship is a very powerful part of the Cornerstone Worship Center Experience.

We recognize music as a beautiful and powerful expression of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, we incorporate music into our gatherings as we follow Paul's guidance to "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 5:19-20).

Forget about His will in your life
 corey, posted 06/19/10 05:18:31

How often do we make excuses to stay where we are at in life and avoid brutal honesty on how far we are from the true will of the Lord….eh?

So, I am driving home from an adventurous day in the office and my wife and kids are already at the church doing kids movie night… To be honest, I really did not want to go…Although having some vague recollection of being expected to go… So I took the first chance I could do bail out of it… I quickly found myself at a Christian bookstore… scanning the isles for something to feed off of… A usual path for me when I am hungry for the Lord and hungry for a candy bar at the same time instead of steak and potatoes (the Bible)… Ha ha ha ha!

Keep reading, I’m not as awful as I am making myself sound…I hope…

Well I found a really cool book… I spent the night reading it cover to cover… Could not put it down…. Two thumbs and two big toes up!

 “Forgotten God” by Francis Chan…

I want to share a really cool excerpt that poked me in the eyeballs repeatedly:

“How many times have we heard someone say “I wish I knew God’s will for my life”? I know I have longed for this before. But now I see it as a misguided way of thinking and talking.

There are few people in the Scriptures who received their life plan from God in advance (or even their 5 year plan, for that matter!) Consider Abraham, who was told to pack up the family and all his possessions and start walking. He didn’t know where he was going. He didn’t know if he would ever be back. He didn’t know any of the details we consider vital (e.g. his destination, how long the venture would take, what the cost/rewards would be, whether he’d receive a 401(k) or health insurance). God said go and he went, and that is pretty much all he knew.

I think a lot of us need to forget about God’s will for my life, God cares more about our response to His Holy Spirit’s leading today, In this moment, than about what we intend to do next year. In fact, the decisions we make next year will be profoundly affected by the degree to which we submit to the Spirit right now, in today’s decisions.

It is easy to use the phrase “God’s will for my life” as an excuse for inaction or even disobedience. It’s much less demanding to think about God’s will for your future than it is to ask Him what He wants you to do in the next ten minutes. It’s safer to commit to following Him someday instead of this day”

It is God’s desire for us to have an actual relationship with him... rather than a long distance or casual one.

Don’t be a slacker and goto a church this Sunday and really worship!

A whole lotta love....Rrrrrrrearrrrrr,

Corey

How he Loves Us
 corey, posted 04/05/10 17:10:55

 God's Love is sooooooooo Amazing.

Driving into work today,  and home from church on Easter (BTW GOOD CHURCH last Sunday EVERYONE!) this song grabbed a hold of me and just would not let go.

We are going to have to play this song this Sunday!!!!

This week, focus on God's love and tap into it.

It is soooo easy to go thru our busy lives and forget about how simple it is to tap into his love, grace and mercy.... Just stop what you are doing... and ask him for it!

This even works in bumper to bumper traffic on I-75... trust me.

I am really excited to be going to the Jesus Culture conference July 14-16th in Atlanta.

I have already gotten the time off from work... so I can be wrecked for a couple of days in a row!

Come worship with the Cornerstone Youth @ what is going to be a really incredible event:

Easter Sunday Prayer (for ALL churches)
 corey, posted 04/01/10 15:39:19

I really dig Easter! I can't wait until service this Sunday.

I encourage you all to pray, for the hearts of all to be prepared for this Sunday. Lots of people goto church out of obligation at this time. I used to be one of those. Praise God, I'm not anymore.. HA HA HA HA!

I pray for pastors and worship leaders all over that they will go off the program/agenda this Sunday... and that the Lord will have his way... in the small churches as well as the mega ones...

That a hunger will be placed in the hearts of the Christians that are faithful... just like it was when they first accepted Christ... FRESH revelation Lord!  and that those people that have not accepted Jesus as their personal savior..... will get smacked between the eyes with a sense of urgency and that that they decide to walk in the way of LOVE. That those seasoned Christians mentioned will take the baby Christians mentioned and be shining lights to them and serve them tirelessly... so they can in return live to serve others...

Galatians 6:10 Baby!

In Jesus name..... AMEN!

Have fun this Sunday! I will.
